ALFEN N.V. Alfen was selected by ElectrAssure as EV charging partner for key import points of Volkswagen Group UK. Alfen supplied 30 smart charge points in the three Volkswagen port terminals, to support the rapid growth of the VW Group UK range of electric vehicles.
Volkswagen AG expects an enormous increase in electric and hybrid vehicles. This growth will be supported by Volkswagen Group UK by a suitable charging infrastructure in its supply chain. For example, in the three port terminals in Sheerness, Grimsby and Tyne.
Smart Alfen Eve Double chargers were installed at the three Volkswagen port terminals where the vehicles are imported and charged before continuing their journey. To manage the load on the grid, Alfen's industry-leading Smart Charging Network and Active Load Balancing were also incorporated
Alfen's innovative and reliable charging stations along with ElectrAssure's reputation for the highest installation standards and customer service were key to the bid and the installation's success. Volkswagen Group UK is now able to provide EV charging for the new models coming to the UK in the coming years.
