Allianz Saudi Fransi Cooperative Insurance Company reported interim earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended Sep. 30, 2018. For the quarter, gross written premiums were SAR 140,582,000 compared to SAR 147,137,000 for the same period a year ago. Net written premiums were SAR 102,556,000 compared to SAR 102,197,000 for the same period a year ago. Net profit before zakat was SAR 9,227,000, compared to SAR 7,975,000 for the same period a year ago. Total comprehensive income was SAR 5,939,000, compared to SAR 8,211,000 for the same period a year ago. The increase in net profit before zakat is mainly due to the decrease in underwriting costs and expenses by 10.7% and a decrease in other operating expenses by 16.7%. The decrease in net profit before zakat is due to the decrease in total revenues by 2.2%. While total underwriting costs and expenses increased by 6.5% and the other operating expenses/income decreased by 35.2%. For the nine months period, gross written premiums were SAR 663,892,000 compared to SAR 673,710,000 for the same period a year ago. Net written premiums were SAR 444,139,000 compared to SAR 489,560,000 for the same period a year ago. Net profit before zakat was SAR 28,452,000, compared to SAR 24,588,000 for the same period a year ago. Total comprehensive income was SAR 21,617,000 compared to SAR 26,884,000 for the same period a year ago. Profit per Share was SAR 1.42 compared to SAR 1.23 for the same period a year ago. The increase in net profit before zakat is mainly due to higher level of underwriting income SAR 107.3 million representing an increase of 9.6%. This is influenced by the decrease of 5.6% in net incurred claims, resulting from the excellent performance in motor.
