The consortium formed by Manelli Impresa, Hitachi Rail and Alstom has been awarded the contract by Brescia Mobility for the new T2 tram line in the city of Brescia (Italy).
The contract, worth a total of €326m, covers the construction of an 11.3 km line linking Pendolina to Fiera, via 21 stations and two depots, with 72% of the line running on dedicated track.
Alstom will contribute €88m for the electric traction equipment, overhead contact line, signaling, lighting, and traffic lights.
Manelli Impresa will provide the line infrastructure and civil works for approximately €161m.
Hitachi Rail will supply 18 innovative trains, designed in Reggio Calabria, equipped with an ADAS anti-collision system, intelligent air conditioning, batteries for operation in sensitive areas and a 98% recyclable structure, for a total of €77m.
