Alstom announces the launch of the Riyadh metro system, a 176 km network comprising six lines and 85 stations, designed to improve mobility and quality of life in the Saudi capital.

The metro, which will serve up to 3.6 million passengers a day, is designed to reduce fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

The project includes bespoke trainsets for each line, with signalling and regenerative braking systems to improve efficiency.

Alstom is celebrating the commissioning of its 100th metro line. The company also offers maintenance services to ensure the long-term reliability of the network.
