Alstom is participating in the 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai from 5 to 10 November.

At this global event, Alstom is presenting innovative rail transit technologies and sustainable solutions that embody green and smart, low-carbon, and sustainable development principles.

2024 marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France. It's also Alstom's 66th year anniversary of entering China's rail industry. Alstom has played a major role in the friendship between the two countries since 1958. This year's CIIE not only marks Alstom's debut at CIIE but also showcases France as the guest of honor country at CIIE. Alstom created a special display on the theme of 'Glorious 60 Years, Carrying Forward the Future' to demonstrate the exciting journey of Alstom's deep integration and development with China's rail transit industry, and significant accomplishments, through illustrations and texts

Ming Geng, Managing Director of Alstom China, stated, 'Alstom views CIIE as a cornerstone opportunity to expand our network in China, deepen our market presence, and extend our global reach. By driving development through innovation, we aim to contribute to a greener, smarter, low-carbon, and sustainable future for the Chinese rail transit industry.'

Featured products and solutions at Alstom's booth include the intelligent train diagnostic system for condition-based and predictive maintenance, the Innovia monorail and the Innovia automated people mover (APM) solutions as well as the Rubber-Tyre Rapid Transit System (RRT). These products and technologies highlight Alstom's cutting-edge advancements in green and smart transportation while underscoring the company's commitment to sustainable development.

The intelligent train diagnostic system deployed in Shanghai Line 12 fleet is displayed through a combined 'Video + Sand Table' model, visually demonstrating the entire operational process of the train intelligent diagnostic system. The system leverages real-time vehicle monitoring and data analytics to provide preventive maintenance solutions, significantly boosting operational efficiency, reducing faults, and lowering maintenance costs. The Innovia monorail, with its short construction period and low cost, is designed for urban mobility solutions in rapidly growing cities and excels in energy efficiency and environmental protection. The Innovia APM, a fast and efficient short-distance transport solution, is ideal for high-density short trips between city centers and airports or as a shuttle service at airports. Meanwhile, the RRT system is tailored for energy-efficient urban transit, integrating lightweight design, onboard energy storage, safety, efficiency, and intelligent energy-saving technology. It is an ideal solution for resolving 'last mile' travel challenges for urban residents.

During the CIIE, representatives of Chinese government delegations from multiple ministries, provinces and cities as well as delegations from French embassy, consulate, business and industries also visited the booth, discussing potential cooperation in rail transit industry, further highlighting the deep-rooted collaboration between China and France in this sector. This CIIE served as a foundation for in-depth discussions and potential collaborations between Alstom, distinguished guests, and partners.

Looking ahead, Alstom remains confident in its development within China's rail transit industry. Alstom will continue rooting in China, connecting the world, driving growth through innovation, contributing to a greener, smarter, low-carbon future for China's rail transit industry.

Present in China for over 60 years, Alstom participates in the full spectrum of China's railway projects. Alstom in China now has a complete range of rolling stock (high-speed trains, railway passenger cars, locomotives, metro, automated people movers, monorail and trams), state-of-the-art components (traction systems, bogies, traction motors, dampers), customised services as well as infrastructure and signalling solutions.
