Alstom will participate in the modernization of the E65 railroad line in the Katowice metropolitan area in Poland. Alstom will be responsible for a complete modernization of the rail traffic control system.

The reconstruction of line E65 in the section: Katowice Szopienice Sud - Katowice - Katowice Piotrowice is the largest infrastructure project in the history of Polish railroads.

The work will include the separation of urban and long-distance rail traffic, replacing the two-track system with a four-track system from Katowice Szopienice Sud to Katowice Ligota, with an outbound route to Chorzów Batory.

Around 100 kilometers of track and 270 turnouts will be rebuilt, and more than 130 kilometers of new traction network will be built.

At Alstom, we work every day for modern, sustainable mobility, both in rolling stock and in traffic control solutions. We bring unique skills to the consortium - acquired through the implementation of projects in Poland and around the world', emphasized Adam Juretko, Managing Director of Alstom Katowice.
