Alstom announced Wednesday that it has won a contract from the Seville metro to maintain and modernize its signaling systems.
The agreement, the financial terms and duration of which have not been disclosed, will cover not only trackside equipment (signals, track circuits, point motors and technical rooms) but also on-board equipment.
It also includes the renewal of interlockings, the upgrading of equipment and tools for fixed beacons, spare parts and the necessary repair stock, the French group said.
The contract also provides for the renewal of the human-machine interface and periodic training for staff.
The Seville metro system consists of a single line and carries around 230,000 passengers each year.
In a press release, Alstom points out that it has been a partner since the system was inaugurated in 2009.
