Altran forms a new research & innovation institute for urban mobility together with 47 European partners


Altran, the global leader in engineering and R&D services, is proud to be founding member of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) innovation community Urban Mobility.

With the objective to develop solutions for sustainable urban mobility, a consortium of 13 cities, 17 industry partners and 18 universities and research centers have been selected to make innovation happen and turn the best ideas into reality. The innovation community has a financial volume of 1.6 billion Euro and is funded by the EIT.

The EIT Urban Mobility community is an advantageous framework that will ensure Altran to participate in several innovative projects to create mobility of the future and fight against climate change by developing livable urban spaces.

The EIT Urban Mobility community set objectives for 2026:

  • Increase shared mobility and free up road space in partner cities
  • Launch 125 new products
  • Support 180 start-ups
  • Educate 1450 graduates

The city of Barcelona (Spain) is a major partner and will host headquarters and an innovation hub. The other innovation hubs will be formed in Copenhagen (Denmark), Prague (Czech Republic), Munich (Germany) and in Helmond (Netherlands) at the Automotive Campus, where Altran is a key player with an automotive expertise center.
