Aluminum Corp. of China Ltd. said its net profit significantly rose in the third quarter despite lower revenue, thanks to higher investment income and a lower cost-to-sales ratio.
The alumina producer, better known as Chalco, posted Tuesday a net profit of 416.1 million yuan ($62.0 million) for the July-to-September quarter, much higher than the CNY103.9 million net profit a year earlier.
Revenue declined 3.5% to CNY49.05 billion, the company said.
For the first nine months of the year, net profit fell 44% to CNY451.78 million, as revenue declined 8.7% to CNY133.15 billion.
