Amazon Aims to Hire 150,000 Seasonal Workers

Amazon.com Inc. plans to hire 150,000 seasonal workers as the holiday season approaches, the e-commerce giant said Monday.

The openings include work stowing, picking, packing and shipping packages from Amazon facilities, the company said. The positions are eligible for sign-on bonuses and hourly bonuses, Amazon said, with starting pay averaging $18 an hour.

Positions are available in hundreds of cities, concentrated in 20 states including New York, California and Texas, Amazon said.
