Amazon cited an independent study by Profitero, an e-commerce analytics company, which said Amazon had the lowest online prices going into this holiday season, on average 14% lower, compared with other retailers in the U.S.

The company also said that the 12-day period, which started on Nov. 21, was its largest for independent sellers on the platform, from which more than 60% of the sales came through.

With the Christmas holiday period still ahead, Amazon said it will continue with the sales momentum, with millions of more deals on its products.
