NEW YORK (AP) _ Ambac Financial Group Inc. (AMBC) on Thursday reported a loss of $22 million in its fourth quarter.

On a per-share basis, the New York-based company said it had a loss of 42 cents. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 16 cents per share.

The bond insurer posted revenue of $53 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported that its loss narrowed to $17 million, or 61 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $282 million.

Ambac shares have declined 11% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $14.35, a decline of 17% in the last 12 months.
