Lucknow, 20th May 2021: ACC Limited and Ambuja Cements Limited, the two operating entities of LafargeHolcim in India, have joined the efforts of the Government of Uttar Pradesh to extend their support to the people of the State as the society faces the challenges of the second wave of the pandemic.

ACC Limited and Ambuja Cement want to be of immediate assistance to the well-directed and impactful interventions of Government of Uttar Pradesh. The current situation has given rise to the need of continuous supply of oxygen, which calls for significant intervention.

Recognizing this need, the two companies will be setting up three oxygen generating plants in the State. One Industrial oxygen generating plant will be set-up at Tikaria in Amethi district while the other two medical oxygen generating plants will come up at Dadri in Gautam Buddh Nagar District. Purchase orders for the above are placed and delivery for these plants is on track.

In addition to setting-up three oxygen plants, ACC Limited and Ambuja Cements have placed order for procuring 100 Oxygen-concentrators, each with a capacity of 10 litres per minute. Out of 100 concentrators, 91 are already handed over to the State (46-DM Gautam Buddh Nagar & 45 DM-Amethi).

Director & CEO, Ambuja Cements.

Ambuja Cement Foundation (ACF), the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of Ambuja Cements Ltd, has also stepped up its efforts to combat COVID-19. It has mapped out the healthcare centres that require medical equipment. It has partnered with organizations to mobilise the supply of concentrators to COVID-19 centres in need of support.

As part of 'Oxygen for Everyone initiative,' Swasth Alliance collaborated with ACF to provide six oxygen concentrators for two community healthcare centres and one COVID-19 centre in Dadri. The support has been appreciated by the District Magistrate and Local MLA.
