American Eagle Outfitters' fiscal first quarter revenue is on track to exceed $1 billion, an estimate that beats its own, and analysts', financial expectations.

The sales boom is due to sales of leggings, jeans and dressy tops, according to a CNBC report.

Industry watchers have predicted sales would be about $904 million.

The retailer said sales at American Eagle stores and Aerie locations have been better than expected due to stimulus payments as well as pent-up consumer demand, according to the report.

"There's a lot of money out there," American Eagle CEO Jay Schottenstein told CNBC. "We think the environment for the next few years, it's going to be a very good environment. ... People will want to spend [and] people are going to want to go out and they're going to want to get back to what was normal before."

American Eagle is scheduled to report financial results for the quarter ending May 1 on May 26.
