American Airlines: improved profitability in Q4

American Airlines reports adjusted EPS of $0.86 for the fourth quarter of 2024, compared with $0.29 a year earlier, with adjusted operating margin up 3.3 points to 8.4% on operating revenues up 4.6% to $13.7 billion.

'We continue to operate reliable businesses and are reorganizing to build an even more efficient airline. This, combined with our commercial actions, has resulted in a solid financial performance," explains CEO Robert Isom.

Based on current demand trends, current fuel price forecasts and excluding the impact of exceptional items, American Airlines expects adjusted EPS of between $1.70 and $2.70 for the full year 2025.
