Naysla Edwards, American Express Vice President of Brand and Member Experience says: "After the incredible hardship faced by the music industry over the past two years, we're incredibly proud to be delivering an event that not only aims to reconnect Sydneysiders to great live music, but also provide a platform for the future of the Australian music industry. From artists, performers, venues, businesses and all of the people behind the scenes, Back The Night is an important kick-start to help the industry head into a brighter future they so wholeheartedly deserve."

London Grammar says: "It's been a few years since we've been able to play live shows in Australia which we've missed so much! We've got such amazing fans, so coming back and being able to play such a unique gig for them that will also help with revitalising the Sydney music scene is something we're really excited about."

Mark Gerber, founder and CEO of Oxford Art Factory says: "It's no secret that the pandemic hit the Sydney and Australian music industry really hard. We've seen first-hand so many businesses disappear and shut down, so it's great to see things beginning to rebound. After what has felt like a lifetime, we're stoked to be opening our doors again and not only be a part of this event, which spans across and supports so many venues and artists, but to host headliners London Grammar for what will be a very special evening of music."

Michael Rodrigues, 24 Hour Economy Commissioner for NSW says: "Sydney's night-time economy is bouncing back after the pandemic. Audiences are keen to get back out and enjoy what this beautiful city has to offer. American Express' Back The Night will help energise the city by supporting a variety of local businesses while assisting our musos to do what they do best: entertain and inspire us. It's great to see the proceeds going to Support Act whose work has and continues to be essential."

The unique festival experience has been designed to allow ticket holders to curate their own customised line-up by selecting venues they want to attend and the artists they want to see.

Ticket holders will be able to purchase one ticket that will provide them with access to every venue and every artist throughout the duration of the evening.

Pre-sale tickets for American Express Card Members are available this Friday, 29 April, with general limited sale tickets available for purchase on Monday 2 May.

About London Grammar:

English trio London Grammar combine sparse electronic pop in the model of The xx with lead singer Hannah Reid's dramatic, soulful vocals, which evoke Annie Lennox and contemporaries like Florence Welch and Natasha Khan of Bat for Lashes. After reaching number two on the album chart in the U.K. with their debut, 2013's If You Wait, they topped the chart with 2017's Truth Is a Beautiful Thing. Their popularity rose with the 2012 release of "Hey Now," which they uploaded to the Internet, instantly finding a digital cult following. Their fans were not just in the U.K., but also on the other side of the world in Australia, where If You Wait featured four platinum AU singles - "Strong" (5x), "If You Wait "(2x), "Hey Now" (1x) and "Wasting My Young Years" (1x). The group was featured on the Flume track "Let You Know" in 2019, then returned with "Baby It's You," the lead single from their third album, in August 2020. The third project, titled Californian Soil, arrived in early 2021 becoming their first number one charting album in Australia.
