Main replacements in West Norriton and Lower Providence Townships will improve water service for customers

Norristown, Pa. (April 19, 2022) - Pennsylvania American Water today announced the start of construction to replace more than one mile of water and wastewater main in Montgomery County to improve reliability for customers, reduce service disruptions, and increase water flows for firefighting. The cost of the system improvements, which replace 6,600 feet of main dating back to the 1930s, is $3,400,000.

This week, Pennsylvania American Water contractors began replacing aging 6" cast iron pipe with new 12" and 8" ductile iron pipe with new copper water supply services for customers in West Norriton Township and Lower Providence Township. Work will be completed by the end of August and final paving of the roadway is planned for completion this fall.
