AngloGold Ashanti Ltd. said Thursday that it has waived its preemptive right over a 30% stake at Australia's Tropicana gold mine, and that this paves the way for Regis Resources Ltd. to acquire the stake from IGO Ltd.
The miner said that it expects the sale of the stake to complete by the end of May.
