Animoca Brands announced the appointment of Jamii Quoc as general counsel, a role in which she will lead initiatives aimed at enhancing organizational excellence by strengthening governance practices, supporting revenue growth, managing risks, and safeguarding the integrity and reputation of Animoca Brands. In addition, Jamii has joined the Executive Committee of Animoca Brands. Jamii will play a pivotal role in expanding the capacity of the legal and compliance team to support the company's growth and drive the next phase of organizational maturity while reinforcing Animoca Brands' commitment to excellence and innovation.

Jamii joined Animoca Brands in 2022 as the head of legal - commercial and M&A. Since then, she has built a robust legal and compliance team in Animoca Brands while streamlining legal processes to enhance efficiency and minimize risks and liabilities. Jamii has been instrumental in key regulatory and legal initiatives of Animoca Brands, and she chairs Animoca Brands' governance committee. Additionally, Jamii actively participates in shaping the Web3 regulatory ecosystem in Hong Kong, serving as a member of the Hong Kong Government's Web3 Regulatory Sub-Task Force, the Web3 Harbour and other trade associations, all of which collaborate with regulators to establish mainstream Web3 regulations.

With 25 years of legal experience as an M&A/PE lawyer in both private practice and in-house settings, Jamii brings a wealth of expertise to her new role. Prior to joining Animoca Brands, she served as general counsel at Meridian Capital, leading the legal team on M&A and capital raising transactions, securities compliance, dispute resolution, and restructuring. Before her tenure at Meridian Capital, Jamii was a partner in the M&A practice at Kirkland & Ellis, where she represented private equity firms, major corporations, and investment banks on a broad range of M&A matters, including public takeovers and private M&A, joint ventures, private equity transactions, and distressed M&A transactions.
