Anpario are working together with DKMS, our charity of the year, to raise awareness of blood cancer, blood disorder and the importance of donor registration.

DKMS, an international, non-profit organisation is the world's largest bone marrow donor centre with more than 9 million registered donors, more than 80,000 of whom have helped save lives by donating!

For many people with a blood cancer or blood disorder often their only lifesaving treatment is to have a blood stem cell donation from a matching donor. DKMS's mission is to increase the pool of available blood stem cell donors who could potentially save the lives of those people who are looking for a matching donor.

Incredibly, only 2% of the UK population are on stem cell register. Less than a third of people find matches within their family, which means the remainder must find an anonymous donor. That could be you. You could be a life saver in waiting. One simple swab test, painless and easy, can open the door to save lives.

Last Thursday (3rd December) Anpario staff attended a powerful presentation from Pete McCleave who was diagnosed with acute myeloma - a rare and incurable blood cancer. He was advised that his best hope for survival was a blood stem cell transplant and was given a maximum of seven years to live, unless a blood stem cell donor was found. No one in Pete's family is a match and therefore to save his life, like many others facing the same situation, his search continues.

Let's help DKMS increase the number of people on the stem cell register, change the statistics and save lives. You could make a difference.

If you are aged 17-55 and in general good health, register via the below link and request a swab kit to become a potential blood stem cell donor today!
