Antofagasta PLC said Tuesday that it has temporarily shut down a pipeline at Los Pelambres after detecting a leak, and that mining operations and processing plans continue to operate with certain limitations.

The Chilean copper miner said the leak was found at an underground pipeline that transports concentrate from the concentrator plant to the port at Los Vilos.

It said full-year impact on copper production will depend on the duration of the shutdown, but it currently expects to be limited to within the current full-year guidance range of between 640,000 and 690,000 tones.

Antofagasta added that preliminary assessment shows no indication of environmental damage.
