TYSONS, Va. (AP) _ Appian Corp. (APPN) on Thursday reported a loss of $3.6 million in its third quarter.
The Tysons, Virginia-based company said it had a loss of 5 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for stock option expense, came to less than 1 cent on a per-share basis.
The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 17 cents per share.
The business process management software provider posted revenue of $77.3 million in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $70.8 million.
Appian shares have climbed 97% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $75.22, a rise of 77% in the last 12 months.
