Arabtec Holding P.J.S.C. reported unaudited preliminary earnings results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2016. For the quarter, the company reported an increase in revenue from continuing operations of AED 356 million, 20% to AED 2.2 billion in second quarter of 2016 compared with the same period last year of AED 1.8 billion. The increase, which was also an 11% improvement on first quarter of 2016, is driven by the new project awarded in fourth quarter of 2015 and first quarter of 2016. The group recognised a loss of AED 35 million in respect of its share in associates, as a result of its 24% holding in Depa Ltd. against profit of AED 4 million a year ago. The resulting net loss to shareholders decreased by AED 532 million to AED 186 million in second quarter against net loss of AED 718 million a year ago.
