PHILADELPHIA (AP) _ Aramark Holdings Corp. (ARMK) on Tuesday reported fiscal third-quarter profit of $40.3 million.

The Philadelphia-based company said it had profit of 16 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 25 cents per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 23 cents per share.

The provider of food, facilities and uniform services posted revenue of $4.13 billion in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $3.87 billion.

Aramark shares have decreased 4% since the beginning of the year. The stock has climbed 0.5% in the last 12 months.
