Registration is free and open to students of all ages

Highlands Ranch, Colo., June 21, 2021 - Today, Arcadis announces its support to host the second annual virtual summer science fair, an opportunity for students of all ages to engage in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Registration opens June 30 to July 12, 2021, and welcomes youth from age 5 to 18 in North America.

'Inspiring the next generation to pursue STEM careers is more important than ever,' said Alyssa Taylor, environmental scientist and science fair program manager. 'The global pandemic didn't make it easy for parents and teachers to provide the hands-on approach that STEM education typically requires. Our virtual summer science fair offers an option for kids to explore a STEM project while being mentored by Arcadis employees along the way.'

Virtual summer science fair dates:

  • June 30 - July 12: Registration is open
  • June 30 - July 19: Participants complete project
  • July 19: Participants submit final project
  • July 26 - July 30: Virtual science fair (projects are showcased on a virtual platform)
  • July 30: Winners announced during a virtual awards ceremony

Once registered, each participant will be assigned to an Arcadis mentor who will help answer questions and guide the project development throughout a four-week period. Projects must be completed and submitted on or before July 19, 2021. A panel of judges from Arcadis will review the submitted projects and select winners from each age group to receive a monetary scholarship.

Parents must sign and submit a Conditions of Participation and Parent Consent Form embedded in the registration form.

Last year, nearly 50 K-12 students joined the firm's inaugural virtual summer science fair and Arcadis awarded a total of $5,000.00 for winners to apply to educational materials or supplies. The virtual summer science fair initiative was selected as part of the firm's pro bono program, which funds community-led development projects proposed by Arcadis employees.
