The Land Transport Authority (LTA) in Singapore awarded Arcadis a SG$26 million contract to provide supplementary manpower to project manage and to supervise the construction of for the North-South Corridor (NSC) project. The personnel to be deployed will complement the existing LTA staff in carrying the above duties.

Singapore's North-South Corridor (NSC) was originally planned as an expressway but has since been reconceptualised to also accommodate Singapore's longest Transit Priority Corridor (TPC) to help achieve the greener Walk-Cycle-Ride future that's central to the city state's Land Transport Master Plan 2040 vision. The corridor will feature dedicated and continuous bus lanes, cycling trunk routes and pedestrian paths to serve bus commuters, active mobility users and pedestrians. It will also facilitate a smoother commuting experience for motorists by redistributing traffic flow and alleviating congestion on the Central Expressway and major arterial roads such as Thomson Road and Marymount Road.

Amos Cheong, Arcadis' Head of Project & Program Management in Singapore explained, 'We are proud to partner with LTA in Singapore's first integrated transport corridor project, moving our nation a step closer to our Land Transport Master Plan 2040 vision by enhancing Singapore's mobility infrastructure. As part of our 2021-2023 strategy, Arcadis is wholly aligned to this vision and committed to supporting the cities and communities we live and work in to improve quality of life for everyone.'

Sreekanth APV, Arcadis' Account Leader for LTA and Head of Design & Engineering in Singapore said, 'This project marks an important step forward in Arcadis' partnership with LTA to create a connected, inclusive and sustainable land transport system. Transforming urban mobility remains a key pillar in Arcadis' strategic priorities and we look forward to further supporting LTA in realising the vision for a green and resilient Singapore.'
