ArcBest Outlines Strategy for a More Diverse, Equitable and Inclusive Organization
Today ArcBest unveiled a strategic Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Roadmap, an important step in the critical work ArcBest is doing to engage and retain talent with diverse experiences and perspectives and to build a more inclusive place for all. This is a significant milestone in an ongoing process ArcBest started in 2020 through a partnership with The Kaleidoscope Group (KG), a diversity and inclusion consulting firm and leader in the areas of DEI, cultural change, education and organizational development.
"Listening to our people and hearing their voices is a priority for us during this journey. The messages we've heard so far have been loud and clear - representation and inclusion matter," said Erin Gattis, ArcBest chief human resources officer. "A successful future for ArcBest requires a continuation of meaningful investments and progress, which we believe are enabled by this DEI strategy."
With KG's guidance and expertise, ArcBest has developed a DEI strategy with four focus areas:
Workforce - attracting talent at diverse institutions as well as developing and retaining underrepresented employees at all levels of the organization
Workplace - creating an environment where employees feel included and have the necessary supports to succeed and connect (i.e., employee resource groups)
Marketplace - providing opportunity to diverse supply chain partners
Community - formalizing employee volunteering and corporate giving efforts
