Following the AREVA press release of June 9, 2017, we would like to give some further details about the preparatory work underway for the upcoming transport of MOX recycled nuclear fuel from France to Japan.

This transport will depart the port of Cherbourg (France) and will be executed by the specialized ships, the Pacific Heron and Pacific Egret, of the British company PNTL.

A press center will be set up in Cherbourg for the departure. The practical details will be communicated in the coming days.

New AREVA and its partners have a longstanding experience in the transport of nuclear materials between Europe and Japan, in line with international regulations with the best safety and security records.
