Asaleo Care today launched its first Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), developed in partnership with Reconciliation Australia.

Asaleo Care's Reflect RAP is a commitment to improving the lives of its people and customers by supporting for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, businesses and communities.

Asaleo Care is the first manufacturer in the personal care industry to implement a RAP, joining more than 1,000 organisations in Australia that are all working to build and implement plans of action.

CEO and Managing Director Sid Takla said the plan formalised Asaleo Care's commitment to reconciliation and is focused on developing a deeper understanding and engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.

'We will work to achieve the goals set out in our plan that aim to raise awareness and appreciation of the culture, history and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and consider activities to improve health equality and hygiene in indigenous communities and provide greater employment opportunities.'

Head of B2B Marketing and RAP Working Group Chair Rochelle Lake said a key focus for Asaleo Care would be working in partnership with Indigenous communities to help improve health outcomes.

'Greater access to health and hygiene products and services is essential to 'closing gaps' in Indigenous health.. We are committed to engaging with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people, communities and organisations to better understand how we can make a meaningful contribution to improving health equity.'
