Asbury Automotive Group, Inc. announced earnings results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2021. For the second quarter, the company announced total revenue was USD 2,584 million compared to USD 1,445.1 million a year ago. Operating income was USD 218.4 million compared to USD 82.2 million a year ago. Net income was USD 152.1 million compared to USD 49.6 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 7.88 compared to USD 2.58 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 7.8 compared to USD 2.57 a year ago. For the half year, total revenue was USD 4,776.9 million compared to USD 3,052.4 million a year ago. Operating income was USD 354.7 million compared to USD 117.2 million a year ago. Net income was USD 244.9 million compared to USD 69.1 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 12.69 compared to USD 3.6 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 12.56 compared to USD 3.58 a year ago.
Asbury Automotive Group, Inc. is an automotive retailer company. The Company operates through two segments: Dealerships and Total Care Auto (TCA). The Company offers a range of automotive products and services, including new and used vehicles; parts and service, which includes vehicle repair and maintenance services, replacement parts and collision repair services, and finance and insurance (F&I) products, which includes arranging vehicle financing through third parties and aftermarket products, such as extended service contracts, guaranteed asset protection (GAP) debt cancellation and prepaid maintenance. The Company operates approximately 160 new vehicle dealerships, consisting of 208 franchises, representing 31 domestic and foreign brands of vehicles. Its TCA, powered by Landcar, is a provider of service contracts and other vehicle protection products, and 37 collision repair centers.
