Ashok Leyland Limited announced production results for the fourth quarter and full year of fiscal 2021. The company has manufactured 26,596 MHCVs in the fourth quarter, 17,911 MHCVs during third quarter, and has ended the quarter with an MHCV inventory of 3,448 numbers, 3,171 numbers in third quarter. LCV volume for fourth quarter was at 17,042 numbers, which is higher than last year, 8,057 numbers by 112%. During fourth quarter, year-on-year MHCV truck volumes for Ashok Leyland have grown at 111%, which is better than the rate of growth of the industry. Full year production was 54,071 MHCVs vis-à-vis 71,189 MHCVs last year. MHCV inventory was 1,243 numbers in March '20, representing vehicles for exports and defense. On a full year basis, LCV domestic volumes for Ashok Leyland have grown by 4% in at 46,671 numbers. Last year, it was 44,912 numbers, bucking the industry trend. LCV truck volumes for the industry actually de-grew by about 11.5%.
