West Japan Railway Company (TSE:9021) signed an agreement to acquire an additional 24.67% stake in Asia Air Survey Co., Ltd. (TSE:9233) from Kokusai Kogyo Holdings Co., Ltd. for ¥1.5 billion on December 11, 2013. West Japan Railway Company is acquiring 4.4 million shares of Asia Air Survey Co., Ltd. representing 24.67% stake at ¥330 per share and post transaction will hold 28.65% stake. The deal is expected to be closed by December 12, 2013.

Asia Air Survey Co.,Ltd. is a Japan-based company mainly engaged in the spatial information consulting business such as aeronautical surveying business and construction consulting business. The Companyâs main customers are utilities such as the central government, local governments, and electric power companies, and operates in Japan and overseas. The social infrastructure management business includes infrastructure management of roads, railways, and other public facilities, administrative support services and energy-related businesses. The national land conservation consulting business provides various consulting services such as river and erosion control, forest and forestry support, soil and groundwater pollution countermeasures, environmental protection, and disaster recovery and reconstruction.
