Aspen Aerogels, Inc. announced earnings results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2021. For the second quarter, the company announced total revenue was USD 31.670 million compared to USD 24.641 million a year ago. Operating loss was USD 6.614 million compared to USD 5.648 million a year ago. Net loss was USD 6.669 million compared to USD 5.698 million a year ago. Basic loss per share from continuing operations was USD 0.23 compared to USD 0.21 a year ago. For the half year, total revenue was USD 59.767 million compared to USD 53.060 million a year ago. Operating loss was USD 12.789 million compared to USD 8.734 million a year ago. Net loss was USD 12.919 million compared to USD 8.867 million a year ago. Basic loss per share from continuing operations was USD 0.46 compared to USD 0.34 a year ago.

Under Thermal Barrier segment, it offers PyroThin product, which is a thermal barrier designed with other functional layers to impede the propagation of thermal runaway across multiple lithium-ion battery system architectures. Its thermal barrier technology is designed to offer a combination of thermal management, mechanical performance, and fire protection properties.
