ASSA ABLOY AB announced earnings results for the third quarter ended September 30, 2019. For the third quarter, the company announced sales was SEK 24,034 million compared to SEK 21,191 million a year ago. Operating income was SEK 3,894 million compared to SEK 3,424 million a year ago. Net income was SEK 2,696 million compared to SEK 2,384 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share was SEK 2.43 compared to SEK 2.15 a year ago. For the nine months, sales was SEK 69,082 million compared to SEK 60,881 million a year ago. Operating income was SEK 10,873 million compared to SEK 3,569 million a year ago. Net income was SEK 7,476 million compared to SEK 1,126 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share was SEK 6.73 compared to SEK 1.01 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share was SEK 6.73 compared to SEK 5.76 a year ago.
Assa Abloy AB is the world's leading manufacturer of locking systems. Net sales break down by family of products as follows:
- security doors and systems (47.1%): shielded and automatic doors, magnetic card locking systems (for use by hotels) and security systems for parking meters, slot machines), etc.;
- electronic and electromechanical locking systems (30%): access codes, electronic locks, etc.;
- mechanical locking systems (22.9%): locks, padlocks, bolts, etc.
Net sales are distributed geographically as follows: Europe (32.4%), North America (51.7%), Asia (7.4%), Oceania (4%), Americas (3.3%) and Africa (1.2%).
