AT&T : Donates to Communities Impacted by Winter Storm Uri

02/23/2021 | 04:18pm EST
AT&T Foundation Donates $150,000 to Texas Food Banks and Civic Organizations Helping Communities Impacted by Winter Storm Uri

The AT&T Foundation has donated $150,000 to food banks and civic organizations in the state of Texas to help communities hit hard by Winter Storm Uri with recovery efforts. The storm has left hundreds of thousands without power, water, shelter and food. We hope this donation can alleviate some of the suffering Texans affected by the storm are having to face.

'Our hearts go out to all the people across Texas who have been impacted by Winter Storm Uri,' said Leslie Ward, President of AT&T Texas. 'We are proud to support these organizations in their recovery and relief efforts in their respective communities.'

The donation will be distributed to following agencies:

When disaster strikes, AT&T and our employees live the company value to 'Be There' for their fellow residents and coworkers, assisting with disaster response activities, corporate giving and volunteerism. AT&T is a member of the Red Cross Disaster Responder Program, which helps ensure the Red Cross is on site immediately following a disaster and has the resources to assist those in need.

At AT&T and the AT&T Foundation, we are committed to developing and supporting programs and initiatives that make a meaningful impact. In addition to responding to disasters worldwide, AT&T philanthropic giving and community engagement efforts focus on closing the digital divide and homework gap, so that underrepresented and underserved communities have economic opportunities and promising futures.

In 2020, AT&T companies and the AT&T Foundation donated more than $145 million to philanthropic organizations, in addition to millions more of in-kind giving. Our employees play an important role in strengthening our communities, and we support them with tools, resources and opportunities to make a difference in communities where they live and work.
