STOCKHOLM--Swedish industrial tool maker Atlas Copco AB said Thursday that it has agreed to acquire Medgas-Technik GmbH, a manufacturer, distributor, installer and service provider of medical-air and medical-vacuum systems, pipeline equipment and medical supplies.

Atlas Copco said the purchase price is not material and isn't disclosed.

In 2019 Medgas had turnover of approximately 12 million euros ($14.1 million). Medgas is headquartered in Berndroth, Germany and has 80 employees.

"The company's knowledge and product portfolio will strengthen our presence and accelerate our business development within medical gas in Europe," said Vagner Rego, Atlas Copco's president of its Compressor Technique unit.

The acquisition is expected to be completed during the third quarter of 2020 and is subject to regulatory approvals.
