Perceptron Inc. on Monday said it agreed to be acquired by Swedish industrial tool maker Atlas Copco AB for $7 a share, or about $68.9 million, in cash.

The deal represents a roughly 71% premium to Friday's closing price of $4.09 for the Plymouth, Mich., provider of 3D automated metrology solutions.

Perceptron said Harbert Discovery Fund L.P., its largest shareholder with a 10.5% stake, has agreed to support the deal, which it expected to close by the end of the year.

Trading in shares of Perceptron was halted premarket on Monday.
