LONDON (AP) _ Atlassian Corporation Plc (TEAM) on Thursday reported a fiscal second-quarter loss of $621.5 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the London-based company said it had a loss of $2.49. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and stock option expense, were 37 cents per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 11 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 31 cents per share.

The company posted revenue of $501.4 million in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Seven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $469.9 million.

For the current quarter ending in April, Atlassian expects its per-share earnings to range from 20 cents to 21 cents.

The company said it expects revenue in the range of $475 million to $490 million for the fiscal third quarter.

Atlassian shares have dropped nearly 3% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $227.02, a climb of 52% in the last 12 months.
