Atmos Energy : Donation Supports River Road ISD Classroom Instruction and Technology

AMARILLO, Texas - Oct. 1, 2021- Atmos Energy recently donated $10,000 to River Road Independent School District (RRISD) to support classroom instruction and technology for all students in Kindergarten through High School. This gift to CISNT is one of hundreds made by Atmos Energy as part of an enterprise-wide Fueling Safe and Thriving Communities drive to invest in educational, literacy, energy assistance, and food security resources across the 1,400 communities it serves.

"We are thankful to Atmos Energy for their generous donation to enhance resources for our teachers and expand our classroom technology for all of our campuses," said Richard Kelley, RRISD superintendent. "RRISD invests heavily in technology, facilities, and faculty to create a safe and healthy learning environment for all students. These funds will help every student succeed and enhance our innovative and comprehensive educational programs to prepare students to be productive and responsible citizens."

On Sept. 13 at the RRISD Board Meeting, the board of trustees formally accepted this significant gift from Atmos Energy. Through Atmos Energy's Fueling Safe and Thriving Communities program, the company is making a difference in the lives of children through partnerships with local school districts to provide necessary student school supplies and technology to support their academic success.

"This wonderful donation comes at a critical time for our district in light of continued learning challenges due to Covid-19," said Amanda Brown RRISD board president. "It is evident Atmos Energy is a true,caring community partner. Parents, teachers, staff, and the community will greatly benefit from this timely gift."

"RRISD believes in providing a learning environment where all students experience security, care, dignity, and respect, and we are proud to support their efforts to fuel bright minds and healthy futures."
