Antonio Casu new CEO of Italdesign

Moncalieri - ITALY, October 27, 2021

Antonio Casu will succeed Joerg Astalosch in the position of CEO of Italdesign as of today, Wednesday, October 27th, 2021.

"Antonio Casu is for us the ideal person to lead our company, not only because of his knowledge of the team and our customers," explains Dirk Grosse-Loheide, President of Italdesign, adding: "but especially because Antonio has built his career largely within Italdesign. He has progressively held positions of increasing prestige and responsibility in various areas of the technical direction, gaining a 360 ° experience within the Group during his years of work in Germany. All these factors characterize him as the best candidate for the role of CEO."

Joerg Astalosch will join back VW Group taking other new responsibilities.

Antonio Casu

Chief Executive Officer

Antonio Casu was born August 1971 in Turin.

His career within Italdesign began in 1998. After a degree in Mechanical Engineering by the Politecnico of Turin, he worked in various roles for different customers worldwide within the technical development of Italdesign.

Since 2005 he worked as Responsible of the Body Exterior Development Department; in 2011 he was appointed as Head of Upperbody Development, including Exterior, Interior development and A-Class Surfacing. From middle 2013 to middle 2016 he worked at Audi in Ingolstadt as Upperbody Development Project Manager.

In August 2016 he took over the Upperbody Development Responsibility at Italdesign in Moncalieri.

Starting November 2016, he was Italdesign Chief Technical Officer.

In October 2021 he has been appointed CEO.
