("Hipcricket"), the one-stop mobile marketing and advertising subsidiary
of Augme® Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: AUGT or "Augme"), today announced
that it has extended its relationship with ISIS,
Inc., a national nonprofit organization based in Oakland, California
that uses technology for sexual health promotion and disease prevention,
to include mobile Web development. By adding a mobile Web component as
part of a three-year contract, ISIS is providing yet another means of
engagement, offering its audience additional choices in how they prefer
to interact with critical health information.
A client since 2005, ISIS uses Hipcricket's platform to manage SMS
messaging, opt-in membership lists, clinic and service locators,
informational messages, and regular reminders about HIV and STI
(sexually transmitted infection) testing. Under the terms of the new
contract, the company will extend its mobile
health program by leveraging Hipcricket's AD LIFE® Mobile
Site Builder to create campaign- and client-specific landing pages
accessible through the mobile Web.
Texting has emerged as the preferred communication method for teenagers,
with 63 percent of teens texting every day as opposed to the six percent
who use email daily (source: Pew Internet). ISIS has always viewed
mobile as critical to its communications strategy and has been extremely
successful at reaching this audience through opt-in SMS campaigns.
Additionally, the company was looking to address the growing number of
teens and young adults who are searching for information on the mobile
Web. The organization's mobile sites provide another entry point to
engage with teens and young adults, offering them the opportunity to
opt-in for ongoing information and resources concerning their sexual
Deb Levine, M.A., executive director and founder of ISIS, explains,
"Mobile has proven to be an effective way to reach teens in a
confidential, personal manner. And as more teens access the mobile Web,
we knew we had to address the fact that online search is the first place
young people turn when they have a question about sex. Now, as they
conduct these searches on their mobile phones, we are able to provide
educational content that promotes sexual health and disease prevention
right at their fingertips."
"ISIS is a great example of a client that recognized the power of mobile
early on," observed Jose L. Cornejo, Hipcricket Vice President -
Healthcare. "As consumer behaviors shifted and more people began
conducting mobile Web searches, it made perfect sense for ISIS to extend
their use of the AD LIFE platform to include mobile website
creation. With Hipcricket's integrated platform, the organization
provides multiple means of engagement and ongoing interaction to its
users. Working with ISIS, we are excited to build on the success of our
mobile healthcare portfolio, which already includes HCP and patient
deployments for global pharmaceutical companies."
