Autodesk Inc. has named its current President and Chief Executive Officer Andrew Anagnost as its interim chief financial officer.

He succeeds Autodesk's past finance chief, R. Scott Herren, who stepped down from the role last year to join Cisco Systems Inc. as its new chief financial officer. Mr. Herren had served as CFO of the design-software company since 2014.

Mr. Anagnost, who joined Autodesk in 1997, has served as the president, CEO and a member of its board since June 2017. He has served in various senior roles at the company, including as co-CEO and chief marketing officer.

He will retain the same compensation arrangements he has held as the president and chief executive officer, the company said in a filing.
