AutoZone, Inc. reported earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended February 12, 2022. For the second quarter, the company reported sales was USD 3,369.75 million compared to USD 2,910.82 million a year ago. Net income was USD 471.76 million compared to USD 345.95 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 23 compared to USD 15.27 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 22.3 compared to USD 14.93 a year ago.
For the six months, sales was USD 7,038.65 million compared to USD 6,065.08 million a year ago. Net income was USD 1,026.99 million compared to USD 788.38 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 49.49 compared to USD 34.37 a year ago. AutoZone, Inc. specializes in distributing automotive spare parts and accessories. The group offers compressors, batteries, carburetors, clutches, des rotors, des motors, fuel pumps, etc. Net sales break down by activity as follows:
- retail and professional distribution (98.2%): sale of spare parts primarily to garages and service stations;
- other (1.8%): sales of diagnostic and maintenance software (name Alldata), and an e-commerce division.
