AvalonBay Communities, Inc. announced earnings results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2021. For the second quarter, the company announced total revenue was USD 561.743 million compared to USD 576.405 million a year ago. Net income was USD 447.953 million compared to USD 170.828 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 3.21 compared to USD 1.21 a year ago. For the half year, total revenue was USD 1,112.879 million compared to USD 1,178.056 million a year ago. Net income was USD 590.176 million compared to USD 338.799 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 4.23 compared to USD 2.41 a year ago.
AvalonBay Communities, Inc. is a real estate investment trust specialized in the development, acquisition, ownership and operation of apartment communities in high barrier-to-entry markets of the United States.
At the end of January 2024, the group owned 279 operating apartment communities containing 83 655 apartment homes, of which 19 communities with 6,539 apartment homes were under development.
