Avenue Supermarts Limited announced earnings results for the second quarter ended September 30, 2020. For the second quarter, the company announced total revenue was INR 53,583.7 million compared to INR 59,989 million a year ago. Net income was INR 1,985.5 million compared to INR 3,226.6 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share was INR 3.07 compared to INR 5.17 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share was INR 3.04 compared to INR 5.11 a year ago. For the half year, total revenue was INR 92,921.5 million compared to INR 118,244.1 million a year ago. Net income was INR 2,386.4 million compared to INR 6,457.5 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share was INR 3.68 compared to INR 10.35 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share was INR 3.65 compared to INR 10.23 a year ago.
Avenue Supermarts Limited is an India-based company, which is engaged in the business of organized retail and operating supermarkets under the D-Mart brand name. DMart is a supermarket chain that offers customers a range of products with a focus on the foods, non-foods fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and general merchandise and apparel product categories. Each DMart store stocks home utility products, including food, toiletries, beauty products, garments, kitchenware, bed and bath linen, home appliances and others.
