Avenue Supermarts Limited reported earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended September 30, 2022. For the second quarter, the company reported sales was INR 106,383.3 million compared to INR 77,889.4 million a year ago. Revenue was INR 106,739 million compared to INR 78,164.4 million a year ago. Net income was INR 6,857.7 million compared to INR 4,177.9 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was INR 10.58 compared to INR 6.45 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was INR 10.5 compared to INR 6.4 a year ago.
For the six months, sales was INR 206,764 million compared to INR 129,720.6 million a year ago. Revenue was INR 207,411.1 million compared to INR 130,310.2 million a year ago. Net income was INR 13,287 million compared to INR 5,131.6 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was INR 20.51 compared to INR 7.92 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was INR 20.35 compared to INR 7.86 a year ago.
Avenue Supermarts Limited is an India-based company, which is engaged in the business of organized retail and operating supermarkets under the D-Mart brand name. DMart is a supermarket chain that offers customers a range of products with a focus on the foods, non-foods fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and general merchandise and apparel product categories. Each DMart store stocks home utility products, including food, toiletries, beauty products, garments, kitchenware, bed and bath linen, home appliances and others.
