* Building cloud-based solutions on STM32U5 is easier with production ready, scalable solutions

GERMANY -- Leading global technology solutions provider Avnet (NASDAQ: AVT), a STMicroelectronics Authorized Partner, announces the availability of IoTConnect on the STM32U5 microcontroller from STMicroelectronics. This pre-integrated, fully supported solution provides a production ready, scalable solution for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) deploying cloud connected IoT applications in high volume.

IoTConnect on STM32U5 provides OEMs with a cloud-ready solution by providing pre-enablement across hardware and software. Avnet's IoTConnect accelerator software includes dashboards and templates that can be easily configured to match any OEM's application across multiple vertical markets.

"Adding support for Avnet's IoTConnect can be of great benefit to our customers developing applications using the STM32U5. Avnet created and industrialized the tool to support scalable deployment, making it ideal for large-volume IoT applications," said Daniel Colonna STM32 Marketing Director, STMicroelectronics.

Avnet has developed IoTConnect to work with the two leading IoT cloud platforms: Microsoft Azure and AWS. Secure device management (SDM) is integral to IoTConnect. Through the software development kit (SDK) co-developed with ST, OEMs can implement SDM in IoTConnect on STM32U5 with minimal design effort.

Michael Lamp, Technical Sales Director, Avnet, said: "We will demonstrate how quick and easy it can be to connect STM32U5 to a cloud platform using IoTConnect at this year's Embedded World exhibition and conference. Avnet will also soon announce a schedule of workshops offering engineers a hands-on experience using IoTConnect on STM32U5." The demonstration at Embedded World 2023 (Nuremberg, March 14 - 16) shows IoTConnect running on the STM32U5 Discovery Kit. This kit includes multiple sensors, including temperature, humidity, pressure, time-of-flight, and gesture recognition. Using IoTConnect, all this data is acquired and securely communicated to a cloud platform. The dashboard feature of IoTConnect is used to display the data and to interact with the Discovery Kit remotely.

The STM32U5 with IoTConnect demonstration can be seen on the Avnet Silica stand, Hall 3A, booth 111. Avnet engineers will be available to discuss how the demonstration was configured and provide further information.

In addition, Avnet will be holding two free virtual workshops to offer engineers the opportunity to get hands-on with the STM32U5 Discovery Kit using IoTConnect.
