The board of Axiata Group has recently appointed Mohammad Izzaddin Idris as its new Deputy Group CEO and Group CEO which came into effect on Friday (January 24).

He was a board member of Axiata Group and was re-designated as an Executive Director.

The Axiata board also extended the contract of its President and Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO), Tan Sri Jamaludin Ibrahim until end of 2020.

As Deputy GCEO, Izzaddin will oversee key corporate functions namely finance, strategy, marketing, corporate affairs, and the increasingly critical areas of cyber security, privacy and trust, and ethics and compliance.

Izzaddin have been serving on Axiata's board since November 2016 and assumed other responsibilities within the organisation.

Prior to this, Izzaddin was the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Tenaga National for five years since 2004. He also held senior positions in other companies including Senior Vice President Corporate Finance of Southern Bank, CFO of Ranhill, and as Chief Operating Officer of Malaysian Resources Corporation.

Izzaddin graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Finance Major, First Class Honours) from the University of New South Wales in Australia.

He is a Fellow of CPA Australia and a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.
