Changes to the Group's Executive Committee

Babcock International, the aerospace, defence and security company, today announced that following a distinguished career in the nuclear sector, Simon Bowen, Chief Executive, Nuclear has decided to retire at the end of this year.

Simon joined Babcock from Urenco where he was Managing Director, and has previously held senior roles at BP. He will be succeeded by Dominic Kieran, currently Deputy CEO Nuclear and Chief Executive of Babcock's Cavendish Nuclear business where he has led the business through a series of key milestones.

Dominic will take the role of Chief Executive, Nuclear on 1 September 2021, with Simon continuing to provide support on key programmes through to the end of this year, and in an ongoing role as Chair of DRDL, Babcock's Devonport holding company.

Babcock CEO David Lockwood said: 'Simon has a passion for safety and has been instrumental in driving positive change in our safety culture across the Group in addition to leading our nuclear business. I wish him a long and happy retirement.'
