Bajaj Electricals Limited reported unaudited standalone earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended September 30, 2017. For the quarter, the company reported total income from operations of INR 9,355.8 million against INR 10,057.5 million a year ago. Profit before exceptional items and tax was INR 306.5 million against INR 258.4 million a year ago. Profit before tax was INR 306.5 million against INR 285.4 million a year ago. Net profit for the period was INR 189.8 million or INR 1.86 diluted per share against INR 166.6 million or INR 1.64 per basic and diluted per share a year ago.
For the six months period, the company reported total income from operations of INR 19,649.9 million against INR 19,651.1 million a year ago. Profit before exceptional items and tax was INR 634.0 million against INR 625.6 million a year ago. Profit before tax was INR 634.0 million against INR 625.6 million a year ago. Bajaj Electricals Limited is engaged in the marketing of various consumer household and industrial goods. The Company operates through two segments: Consumer Products and Lighting Solutions. The Consumer Products segment is engaged in the manufacturing and trading of consumer durables products which includes fans, domestic appliances, kitchen appliances, and non-electrical kitchen aids. The Lighting Solutions segment is engaged in the manufacturing and trading of lighting products which includes light-emitting diode (LED) products, such as lamps, bulbs, battens and ceiling lights in consumer lighting and poles, high mast, street lighting, area lighting, in professional lighting. It also provides various fans comprising ceiling, pedestal, table, wall, personal, domestic, and others. It also involved in the engineering, procurement and commissioning of power transmission and power distribution infrastructure. It operates approximately 2,00,000 retail outlets.
